Bijal Shah is an experienced operational strategist with a history of helping organizations set high-level goals and outline the plans needed to meet them. She first joined Hot Bread Kitchen as the Director of Impact and Innovation, where she was instrumental in supporting operational improvement efforts. In April 2025, Bijal became Hot Bread Kitchen’s Chief Program Officer, helping to lead our work to expand access and deepen our impact for New York City’s Breadwinners.
With over a decade of experience in the healthcare sector, Bijal brings deep expertise in operational excellence and strategic execution. Her past work supporting leaders in large health systems , nonprofits, and startups positions her perfectly to guide us through the next chapter of our strategic growth.
Before joining Hot Bread Kitchen, Bijal worked at organizations like Kaiser Permanente, Center for Care Innovations, and Brightline Health where she developed organization-wide strategy, created and launched innovative care models, and drove improvement in care quality, access, and efficiency.
Bijal currently resides in Montclair, New Jersey with her husband, two daughters, and dog. In her free time, Bijal enjoys getting lost in a puzzle and spending time by the water whenever possible!
