Hot Bread Kitchen Creates Breadwinners.
At Hot Bread Kitchen, we define our impact as economic mobility for our members, using NYC’s food industry as a catalyst. We measure this through skills gained, job placements, career advancement and sustained or growing food businesses.
We also work with employers and businesses across the food ecosystem to shift toward more equitable policies and practices. The result is upward economic mobility for the women we serve, increased earning power, newfound confidence and stability, and new jobs for the community.
Hot Bread Kitchen Impact Reports
Since 2008, Hot Bread Kitchen has worked to create economic opportunity through careers in food. Through interviews with our graduates, our own data, and research in our field, we invite you to learn more about the work we have done—and will continue to do—to support women and gender-expansive people, immigrants, people of color, entrepreneurs, and the future of work.
2022 was a year of new beginnings for Hot Bread Kitchen. After a two-year hiatus, we relaunched in-person programming, kicking off our signature culinary fundamentals training from a brand new home at Chelsea Market, under the leadership of a new CEO, with an abundance of new teammates and ideas. We met new members, experimented with new service offerings, and established ourselves in new neighborhoods.
