A few weeks before the program starts we will contact you by phone or text to schedule an interview. During the 2-day working interview, you will spend some time in the kitchen. After the interview you will learn if we have selected you for the program.
During the 5 weeks of training, you’ll learn knife skills, kitchen fundamentals, bakery production, basic safety and sanitation, and personal and professional skills to get you ready for a job in the food industry.
Over the next ~2 weeks, you will work with our team to prepare and interview for a job at a bakery, restaurant, cafeteria, or other food business.
Hot Bread Kitchen will continue to support you throughout your first year of employment and beyond!
- Women over age 18
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Able to communicate in basic English
- Able to lift 50 pounds (22kg) and stand on your feet for 8 hours
- Must be available for five weeks of training (Monday to Friday, generally from 10am-5pm or 2pm-9pm)
- Must have an open and flexible schedule for the duration of the program, including evenings, early mornings, and weekends.
