For over 15 years, we’ve trained and prepared women and gender-expansive individuals for jobs in NYC’s food industry, partnering with food businesses to meet their culinary talent needs.

CULINARY FUNDAMENTALS:
100-hour Fundamental Skills training emphasizing basic cooking and baking techniques. NYC Food Protection Certification
FRONT OF HOUSE TRAINING:
30-hour training emphasizing customer service, communication, sales, food knowledge and description, coffee basics, and Point of Sales practice
ALL PROGRAMS:
Professional skills including initiative, communication, adaptability, conflict resolution and an eagerness to learn
Share job descriptions for open roles and we’ll be in touch with members who may be a good fit.
You are always welcome to attend a Hot Bread Kitchen hiring event to meet members eager to get to work.
Meet with hires for (at minimum) 5 minutes monthly for 3 months to provide direct feedback
Together, you’ll complete a brief performance log (via Google Forms) together.
Communicate with Hot Bread Kitchen about any on-the-job issues or concerns.
Hot Bread Kitchen will review monthly performance logs and check-in regularly with supervisors to mitigate any on-the-job issues or concerns.
We have a new cohort graduating from our Culinary Fundamentals program every 3-4 weeks, so we always have a robust pipeline of candidates!
