Founded in 1995, Levain Bakery has become a beloved NYC staple known for their baked goods and iconic cookies. 30 years later, Levain has grown beyond New York with locations across the country!
A Hot Bread Kitchen employer partner since 2020, Levain Bakery works closely with our team to support our members embark on their culinary careers. For Culinary Fundamentals graduate Erika, being hired at Levain helped her fulfill her lifelong dream of working as a professional baker.
At Levain, Erika has found an extension of the community she discovered at Hot Bread Kitchen— one where people come together around shared values, commitment to job quality, and a passion for the culinary arts.
For Erika, her experience at Levain has been so successful that she made the decision to return to Hot Bread Kitchen to share her story with members currently in training. These kinds of moments don’t just help to foster community across cohorts at Hot Bread Kitchen, but provide our members in training with an inside perspective on what their future careers might look like.


In addition to hiring our members, Levain Bakery also offers our members tours of their wholesale bakery while they are in training. Members leave these exclusive tours with an added level of excitement and insider industry insight (along with free cookie samples!) as they prepare to embark on their new careers.






In honor of their 30th anniversary, Levain is publishing a book that weaves together stories of their business along with photographs, illustrations, and a selection of recipes and will be donating 10% of the proceeds to Hot Bread Kitchen!
