On March 8th, people around the world celebrate the advancement and achievements of women. Happy International Women’s Day from the graduates of Bakers in Training and HBK Incubates!
This February’s graduation ceremony featured seven women from the Bakers in Training program who graduated into living wage positions at some of the top bakeries in New York (including Whole Foods Market and Google). Six of them are single mothers, and they are from places as far ranging as West Africa and as close by as East Harlem. HBK Incubates member My Sweet Brigadeiro moved on to their own retail facility to make their traditional Brazilian treats.
